|Posing, not riding!|
Sweet Sam’s had a total blast these past couple of weeks, what with our island being turned into a regular biker’s paradise, hosting the annual TT superbike road races again.
We are in prime position for all the wheelies as they fly by, with our drive being perched as it is, slap-bang right at Agostini’s Leap.
Our usual crew of biking enthusiasts made it over from the mainland, and a fine time’s been had by all. I forget how many years it is since Andy, my best friends brother, and his pals have been coming over, around seven or eight I think.
In between downpours the sun still managed to shine, and although there were delays, most of the races were able to run. This was taken from our drive – talk about close up and personal!
And despite breaking my spec’s and being half blind throughout the entire episode, seems you can’t keep a good girl down – I STILL shot some dead-eye hoops, in between keeping that barbie fired..
Our road is sealed off as the bikes thunder by, but we can escape out the back route, via the glen, and by picking our way (carefully) across the river.
Which enabled hubby to introduce our guests to the fine delights of the odd real-ale pub crawl.
A girl over from hubby’s office in London looked us up too, whilst she and her boyfriend, and his friends were over – seven in total, which sure filled up our sofa. This isn’t of them (I forgot to whip the camera out) but of another bunch of
And of course, we were able to reunite with Denise and Jon when they came over, enjoying a meal out with them before they spent a day watching races with us. She’ll hate me for this photo, as she’s lost 30lbs since this was taken.. I’ve been very lax on taking new pictures this year (sorry Denise).
Oh yeah, and hubby still managed to voluteer his marshal duties over the practise days, but this time round he took the week off for the actual race week, better to enjoy it at his leisure.
Sam even squeezed in another photo opportunity with his hero, Michael Dunlop, who is also one of this years winner’s, again.
Yup, it’s sure proved a busy and action filled couple of weeks, and certainly one to be fondly remembered.
Abby and her friends have been happily painting the shed, my carpets, and the dog a light shade of pretty blue.
Which is why I’m taking some time out to salvage what’s left of the shed, our living quarters, and my thinly stretched sanity.
The eldest arrives home from Uni for the summer on Friday (nervous smile), and I’m hoping he’s just going to LOVE what we’ve done with his old place (once I’ve virtually demolished and rebuilt it from the ground up). If you should shortly feel any earth-tremors, you’ll know from where they originate..
Sooooo, for now I’m disabling my “comments” section, Summer is a-calling, and I’m taking a break. I hope you all know to behave yourselves until next I return, but in the meantime –
